Got a 73-76 something corbled jeep they put a fiberglass tub on it and never transfered the parking brake stuff, just cut off the cables at the backing
plates. Can a guy get aftermarket pedel assb or can you get a hand lever style?

Once you determine what you need, Herm the Overdrive Guy should have the parts. An exploded view should give you the details on the P brake assembly.

I don't think Herm will be able to help much, in this case.

The foot operated parking brakes all work more-or-less the same way. They have a pedal that pulls on a cable, which is split into two cables at a yoke (equalizer) under the car. Look at the parts books at www.oljeep.com for some illustrations.

Depending on which rear axle you have ('73-74 Dana 44, or '76 AMC 20), get the parking brake cable that come from the wheels. There's an equalizer that joins them in the center. Then get the '76-up pedal assembly, and cable from the pedal to the middle of the cable between the wheels.

If you can figure out what rear axle you have, I can give you the Jeep PNs for the cables to the wheels. No guarantee that they are available new, but searching with the PN is the easiest way to find them if they are. Then put those together with a handle or foot pedal from junkyard parts.

I have looked around for the cables from the drum to equalizer and from what I have seen they are either no longer produced or are produced in very low volume. None of the FLAPS or 4x4 shops have them.

RockAuto shows them available from Omix-Ada, 1673004 and 1673005. Not cheap, and not my favorite supplier, but available.

These are the ones I purchased. The ones I received were made in Canada.

I have them also. I don't like the Omix-ada stuff but these seem to be well made. There is a lot of force on the mounts for the pedal assembly, might want to make some plates for the mounts over the fiberglass.
