Homemade early CJ5 hardtop?

    How hard can it be? :) If your thinking of building one and looking for ideas your better off looking at the flatfenders because alot more of those tend to be homemade or homemade looking since most of them didnt even come with a top when bought new

    YOU can make your hard top but you must prepare the windshield to put hinge for doors. Doors are fixed on the windshield and at the bottom. So you make doors first? they must work alone.

    Then you make the roof and you make it with a hook in the gravity center so you can move it easily.

    This part of the rook with the hook must be the strong center from which all is linked. THis is the central bone of you roof.

    Hope it is clear; the weight of my Meyer hard top without doord is probably 300 lbs. This is the problem.

    In wood with plastic windows and parts it will be better.

    There was a guy on ebay that used to sell plans for a CJ5 woodie looking top. It was way cool.
