Why we use fuel filters...

    The jeep had been sitting for a while before I started to work on it this summer. Changed the fuel filter from a metal in line type to plastic at that time....wanted to see if it caught anything.....

    replaced it today with a metal can type....

    I have a metal can style by the tank (tank replaced last year), and a clear one near the carb so I can check gas flow.

    The old glass sediment bowl fuel filters are great for this, if you can find one.

    I found old Carters on Ebay, But you can buy new ones at willysjeepparts.com and they offer replacement elements and all the fittings to make it work. I'll put it in soon...after I go through one more disposable filter and most of the big stuff is filtered out..

    I see the glass bowl filters on ebay frequently. I have one I'm gonna put on once I find a new filter element....
