    Howdy folks,
I am new to the forum and had a rust repair question. I am looking at repairing the typical jeep rust on the spot welds where the firewall and side come together on a nicer looking 72 renegade. My question is, is it possible to make these types of repairs and blend them into the original paint job?
    thanks,
    Sean

Probably easier to respray the whole Jeep, or at least all the exterior. Solid colors are pretty easy, and can be done successfully in single-stage paint. You can spray over the original paint if it's still well bonded. Fix your rust spots and spot prime with an epoxy primer. Then sand the whole body exterior and spray it. You can skip respraying the interior or under the hood. The natural transitions will hide where the new paint starts and the old paint ends.

I use on surface rust and for general cleaning of bare steel/sheet metal, CLR kitchen cleaner in the gray bottle will clean most any rust of of the surface real fast also.
