Need some help on installing the rear main oil seal on a L-134 with a neoprene seal. The engine is on a stand and the crank has been turned 20 under.

    1. The lettering on the seal should face the rear (fly wheel direction) or towards the front (towards the front of the block)
    2. The seals seem to be tool long and need to be trimmed to be flush with the top of the block surface. How do you trim the seals, there is a metal rib inside the seal that needs to be trimmed.
    3. When I start to tighten up the caps the crank become hard to turn by hand and all I have done is snug the bolts up no where near torque settings. Is this because the seal needs to be trimmed some more?
    4. Any pictures etc. would help

    Thanks for your help
