Hi all, this may have been asked before but what throttle cables are people using for their swap? I have the 225 with a Rochester 2g carb. The length to the firewall is about 11". Is there an off the shelf throttle cable that would work? As usual the parts kid needs a specific vehicle :)

    Thanks

I just made the pedal and pivot and used direct rod linkage.

I used the hanging pedal and all linkage from the 225 donor jeep. Worked perfect.

I used that for a few years also. The problem I had was trying to keep an even throttle application in the rocks with the hanging pedal. A lot easier with a full, floor mounted pedal.

I agree with that, for sure. The hanging pedal is really touchy.

I have a 99 Ford Ranger throttle cable thats fit pretty well. It does a loop on its way to the firewall though which may end up being an issue after a couple years of wear. Same carb-engine setup. I made my pedal and made the top to fit the length of the cable in the cab. Pegasusautoracing.com makes custom cables. I just ended up with the Ford cable since I pulled my brake cylinder out of the same Ranger and just grabbed the throttle cable.
