    Nice bumper Steve!
    Keep up the good work.

And I think you now know of a good place for some shakedown runs ;);)

the dauntless is bolted in ,
since the bumper is now welded to the frame and the lame HF hoist only has so many extention holes I could not install motor from the front ,,,,,,,I had to take the tire off and install it from the side not quiet so easy this way and it took 3 guys to get it in ,,. I noticed I need a to make a new trans mount ,1 hole is toast . I think I have a spare Muncie 4spd mount arount here somewhere,
also gave the body a complete shot of color good enough for now to keep contaminants out of the body work .
on to the next project .

I must have the same engine hoist Steve. I had to put mine in from the side too. But, I didn't have a body in the way. It was still a PITA. Now you've set the hook. Reel us in with some pics!

John ,,, you could probably hear me cursing when the hoist hit the bumper and I was still 16" away from the mounts.

For me it was the bumper and the extra 8 1/2" of frame I added at the front.

to be honest my motor is nothing to look at not a single chrome part anywhere in fact covered in a nice oily paste of oil and dirt ,,,,,from laying it over to many times and ps oil dripping out . hey is prevents rust right . before I took it apart I now wish I had atleast power washed it . it's yucky.

Engine install work is why I like my hoist on wheels in the shop. That and a tranny jack is all I use to roll the drive train in and out of the rigs.

for second I though of just cutting a hole in the ceiling and throwing a beam in there and use my old Timken chain hoist.

got more work done , master cyl/brake lines installed, clutch AA chain drive hooked up and started re-landing the wiring , and that $20 rear bumper is centered /drilled /mounted,and I was able to reuse my old trans mount by running a new nut in side the mount.

noticeing that some of the wires/OBAir lines to the rear are now 20" too short WTH?!

also noticing that the boxes of parts are finally begining to look emptier.

well , I thought I had this licked
I took an old full face welding helmet at took the dark glass out just keeping the clear glass in ,freak'n perfect for drilling upside down. total protection !!!!

only problem was it was sitting in the garage with all this work being done and it had stored up a bunch of grindings ,,,,and well I put it on and dumped the grindings right into my eyes...........STUPID!!!! JUST STUPID....I KNOW !

put a HK sticker on my eye patch and it takes 3 girls to hold me down while they put the drops from hell into my right eye .
