The 258 in my girlfriends Jeep has a Clifford 6=8 manifold on it. It's on there with a stock exhaust manifold. I've run across a couple of newer clifford manifolds that have the bosses for power steering molded in. I'd like to stick one of these on there but I notice the new ones say you have to use a header to mount their intake. Does anybody know why? Does it pertain to only the intakes witht the water ports? Any help would be appreciated. I'd like to buy one of these that I've found before some other 258 owner snaps them up. I can't swing a header at this time though.

Probably has to do with the flange for the carburetor heater. The 2V manifolds from 1981 on used an electric heater for the carburetor, and do not have the flange to connect with the exhaust manifold.

I don't know if the Clifford manifold has the water jacket or not.
