Dana 30 pinion bearing differences

Guys,

I brought a Dana 30 bearing and shim kit out of the US (Just Differentials) and went to fit the inner pinion bearing cone onto the pinion and low and behold it just slipped on without any pressing. So I checked the bearing numbers against the old one and this is what I found

Old cone = HM88649
New kit cone = HM88648-N

The cup is the same for both HM88610

Any ideas,

I have got onto the seller and I'm waiting for a responce, just wondered if this was common or uncommon

 

try this website, it is the Timken tapered roller bearing catalog. Those are timken numbers you have.

Problem solved, wrong bearing given in kit, JD's are sending out a new one
