    Hi guys,

Well, I have been thrashing about with my T-90 tranny for my '66 CJ5 for a couple months now, and have FINALLY sorted it out. I took the tranny out to get at the clutch and tore it all apart getting it off the transfer case, and after months of fooling around, trying to buy a working one, and not managing, I finally downloaded the COMPLETE T-90 rebuild instructions and exploded drawings and got to it. Last Saturday morning, I hauled the whole thing into the family room in a tub, and got started. Got it all together, but discovered that I had a broken part on the synchronizer for 2nd to 3rd and ordered one from Jeep Doc. Well, the good folks in TN got it in the mail end of the day on Monday and I had it priority mail today in MI. Couldn't wait to try to get it all going, and son-of-a-gun, the darn thing just FELL together tonight. Put the shift tower on it and tried it in all the gears, seems to be working!!!!

So, Saturday I crawl under the jeep with number one son, and get this puppy put togther so I can get the snow blade assembled and installed!

Man! I never thought that I'd get this thing sorted out. Many thanks to Michigan Pinstripes and Hippo for trying to lend a hand, and a special thanks to the kids at JeepDoc.com who gave me a break on the shipping!

Where did you get the instructions from? I have a t86 and all I could find was the exploded view of it.

Did a search HERE for T-90 that lead me to rebuild instructions and exploded view on JeepTech or somewhere. It was 28 pages printed plus two more pages of cutaway and exploded views. Then I just 'figgered' out the rest and found the broken part that was causing the problem.

    Good luck with the T86....

I've been married to the same gal for nearly 30 years now. But she works at Bronners Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth and this is the busiest of her busy seasons and she's working seven days a week, about 10 hours a day average. So I was in the house all alone, and put the entire thing in a big plastic tub and hauled it in and put it on the coffee table in the family room. Then, when it was warm enough to work on, I turned on the TV for background noise, got out my instructions and tore the thing down and got it put back together the way it's supposed to go. Found the bad part, ordered same and finished putting it all together last night. The completed tranny is STILL in the family room in that same tub, along with tools, directions, rags, and aviation style permatex. Will haul it all out to the shop on Saturday morning and put it back together....

I rebuilt mine with no help or in struction , but I dont think it works lol. Well really I have first and reverse with it sitting in the floor assembled, With the tower OFF i can get all gears but the 2nd and third sync is snug and every thing turns nice and free. So im hoping that after I get it hooked to the hurricane and get her spining shell do ok , I had a t-5 richmond do that once. Has anyone else had that happen with a t-90 , Im a guessing right its just a breakin prob or is it something I need to look at. thanks
