Thought I'd start my "not a restoration" thread for Elvis. I'm afraid to call it a rebuild or restoration as it's easily overwhelming. I'd rather focus on a step by step process mentally and not think too much about the bigger picture. (time & money) I'm want to keep it fun and take it slow - one baby step at a time.

This is how Elvis looked when i bought him fall of 2011. The PO was a great welder and made nice bumpers and a nice rear rack w/ seats that slide-in on the receiver hitch. He also made a good roll-bar with six uprights. I'll link more pictures as time goes by,,,

Yeah, dump'em in the ditch! Works pretty well though. For a slow ride through the deer lease or wherever. He even welded in horseshoe drink holders! I can't say enough nice about the PO. He sold the jeep to me for $1800 and it carried me through one season of hunting. Since then I've proceeded to disassemble to make it more trail ready and durable. It has it's problems but he did a good job of maintaining it and keeping it upright.

Just a head's up if anyone needs a rear cover for a Dana 18 Transfer case. Randy's Ring & Pinion sold me a used one for $3. Blue said he had "a few more laying around"

I am looking forward to seeing the progress you make.

You can drop photos straight in this page if you use the "IMG" code from photobucket. Just click on the IMG code under the pic at photobucket, that puts it on your clipboard, then you can paste it in the dialog box on the thread editor here. Just an option you might like.

Thanks for the tip. Can't wait to finish phase 1 (rear axle rebuild, powr-lok, 11" brakes, all new brake lines, new rear u-joints)
