Today's stupid question- when you squirt grease into the wheel bearings on a tapered 44 where's the old stuff go?

is it supposed to shoot past the hub seal& into the grease catcher?

Or past the axle shat seal into the tube?

Somewhere's I read there's supposed to be a small hole in the top of the tube to let it squirt out but Tonk doesn't have any.

I seem to remember when I put new bearings in mine, the seal I ordered from kaiser/wiilys had an extra hole that matched an extra hole in the axle tube and the seal plate had a relief area where the extra hole was.
