voltage regulator wiring question

Ok, The voltage reg on my cj looks like toast. The windings are burnt up and it is not charging. My main concern is that I am not sure that the previous owner wired it correctly. The wiring harness is homemade so the wire colors probably won't be right.I checked the queensfilm link but it wont come up.I am going to put a new reg on it but I want to make sure it is wired correctly. There is one wire on the bat term that goes to the ign. The book I have shows there should be two.Can anyone shed some light on where everything should go? thanks for any help.
