Anyone have any luck with a store bought aerosol to match Jetset Metallic Blue code #492 on a 1973 CJ5?

You can get spray cans made to your color. Hre's one source: http://www.autopaintdirect.com/

Your local auto body paint store can probably make spray cans for you too. Not cheap, but it will match as best as a single-stage paint can.

I'll try to post some of mine in a couple weeks. I ordered a paint pen of jetset blue from Paintscratch.com, and it matches perfectly. On their site, the color shows up under the 74 cj5 colors, and there's only a green for 73 showing. So, now I've ordered some paint from them to fix my right rear fender.

you need to load your pics on a web based photo site (like photobucket) then from there copy the "img" code and paste it into your thread here.....hth

As far as I know, my 73 is that color. It has been repainted (assuming with the same color) about 20 years ago. It's been barn kept. I hope to get some pictures soon outside because (fingers crossed) my clutch and transmission are hopefully put back in correctly. [IMG]

Off the subject, but what kind of side steps are those? Do they mount to the body or the frame?

Those are Carr hoops. They mount to the body. I can get in and out fine without them, but I wanted my Dad to be able to get in his old Jeep. I didn't want the nerf bars that I had to drill in the frame, and I didn't want sliders that mounted to the rockers. IMO, those mount too high to use as a step. These work best for me since I wont be going anywhere to hang them on anything. If I did, pulling a few bolts gets them off in a few minutes. My floor pans and hat channels are not in perfect shape, so I'll figure on some repair in the future anyway.
