I stopped taking the cab off, after i lost my handy dandy roadside toolkit. started locking the doors.
realistically I'm most concerned about the $30 of gas, the legal docs and head unit in the glove box, the license plates, vin plate and windshield.
any groceries are under a black denim bed cover and a little tint all around makes it difficult to tell there is a cover in there.

I am thinking of a locking hood latch...

 

old school method..if you have a hole in the dash..add an eyebolt and chain the shifter to it after putting it in reverse...


at the house i dug a big deep hole...rolled the wasted f134 block into it..hammered in rebar at different angles...welded rebar to an old u-bolt..then poured a few bags of concrete into it....backfilled...and run a chain through the ubolt..i usually secure my trailer to it...but do the same to the heep sometimes...i dont live in a bad area..but i grew up in NYC...old habits..
