Waayy back in the mid ‘80’s, after the floors and other body parts were disappearing because of rust, I rebuilt my ’75 CJ-5 using a fiberglass body from 4 WD Hardware along with stainless nuts, bolts, screws and hardware. At the time, it was the way to go. The ‘Glass body was well made (back then) and has stood up over the years very well. Now, since seeing all of the pictures and reading the threads about restoring older 5’s back to original, retaining all of the body details, indents, flip passenger seats, tool box storage, lights etc, I can honestly say that I wish I spent more time and effort restoring the original steel body. I can really appreciate the time and effort that goes into a proper restoration, and my congratulations go out to those of you do it sooo well!
Maybe when I retire I’ll get another one and do RIGHT !!
