Hi Guys, I'm working on a basically all stock 61 Willy's CJ5 with the F-head 4 and 3 speed manual transmission. I changed all the fluids in the rear ends, transmission and transfer case last week. The transfer case is leaking oil. It's not coming from the drain plug or fill plug. There is a round "thing" (real technical term right? LOL) on back of the transfer case and it's leaking out of that. I have no idea what that piece is. It mounts between the rear driveshaft and transfer case and the e-brake connects to it as well. Any idea what that piece is called? Is it actually attached to or part of the transfer case? I assume there is some sort of seal between the transfer case and that round piece. How hard is it to replace?

Thanks again for all your help guys....

If it is the seal at the yoke I don't think RTV will help.

Ron, not sure from your description exactly where it's leaking (see attached pic). You may want to pull the drive shaft and brake assy for a closer look. If it is the yoke seal you will need to remove the yoke. Replacing the seal is not that hard. Somewhere I've got part numbers for double lipped seals. I could post those later.
