center console door

I,m missing the center console compartment door "spring"? It attached to two holes in the compartment opposite the rear ash tray and to a threaded boss inside the door. Seems to be a part that often broke and is hard to find. Any info. on what it actually looked like and how I can fabricate one would be appreciated.

 

I've got a couple of consoles, I'll dig one out tomorrow and get a picture which would probably be easier than trying to find the one I already have off, put away somewhere I can't remember :?.

Couldn't put my hands on an actual piece since they're probably residing in one of the numerous containers and coffee cans so here's a picture from the parts manual.
