The 258 is not a good choice for a pre-71 or non extended postal type nose jeep. Nor is any other inline 6. A V6 is much better. This looks like a pretty straightforward conversion although I have not done one. Get a trans/t-case that will bolt up to your existing motor, and get a front axle with same gears as your existing rear.

What did your postal come with originally? Does it have the "bubble grill" if so they did come with a 232 and a few years with the 258. If so the 258 would fit fine. the "bubble grill" gives you about 3 more inches for room to fit the radiator. You will have to do some fab work for your clutch linkage and pedal. The postal jeeps with the I6 motor has a cradle that holds the engine in place and does not have a front cross member. You would also have to remove the spacer from behind your cooling fan and bolt the fan against to the pulley.
