I have a 1967 Jeep CJ5 with a 225 v6 Dauntless engine. I have a Rochester 2 Jet carburator. I need to know the number of the carb so I can get a rebuild kit. I've looked and can't find any numbers on the body. Thanks

Numbers should be on the passenger side of the float bowl.

Before 1967 Rochester 2 jet was identified via triangular aluminum tag.

Does yours have a manual or an automatic choke ?
Unless it was changed it should be a manual choke.
    Model 2-GC for CJ-5's... Most likely # 7026082 or #7026086

Posative identification of specific model # will be impossible without doing a thorough internal inspection.
You will need to specify the main venturi bore diameter.
This is emossed internally just above the main venturi's.
You will need to identify plastic vs. brass float.
You will need to specify the cluster jet number.
You will also need to designate part numbers given for the main body casting (external stamp) and air horn casting casting (internal stamp).

All that information is needed yet cannot posatively identify model number without measuring restriction sizes of all orfices.
This is due to possiblility of internal parts swapping with other similar 2 jet Rochesters.

The last kit I bought was from Autozone and it included all the gaskets needed for the 2G and the 2GC. Your instructions will include float settings for 3 or 4 different type of floats. You have to look at the gaskets closely when assembling as they have gaskets for 2 different size venturi's. Don't assume the carb you have was previously assembled properly with correct gaskets.

Thank you for the information. I was hoping to find out what I needed before removing the carburator but I'll take it off and take a closer look for numbers. Thanks Walt for the heads up about the correct gaskets. I have covered a passage way before with a gasket and had a heck of a time finding the problem.
