I just recently replaced the points in my 1967 Dauntless V6 with the Pertronix electronic trigger. It has not run right since. The best way to explain it that the engine surges or pulses when trying to run at a constant speed, especially low speeds. It never did this before the swap. The engine just feels totally different and it also gets less mpg than previously. I have also had the carb rebuilt and checked out. I'm about ready to put the points back in. Any thoughts on this?

There was a problem with these a while back... Try rotating the magnet ring 180° and try it.

New one on me there, I've installed Pertronix units on everything from a 59BA Flathead to a '79 300-6 and haven't had an issue, I'd give Patricks suggestion a shot, were I you.
