Could I modify the windshield frame of a late CJ5 to accept a soft top made for an early type?

I just found an early one going for a steal, but I can't remember what the early type shield frame looks like (had a CJ6 one once, but it was rotted out)

the tops are longer on an early or intermediate and the windshield frame is wider you could modify the top easier than the frame .

The later frame tilts back more, and the windshield is slightly trapezoidal (as opposed to rectangular, with the uprights parallel).

Unless I could find a pre-76 windshield, I would pass. The doors are the wrong shape, the width across the front of the top is wider, and the top fabric is longer. If you had an industrial-grade sewing machine and knew how to sew, you could make it fit. Otherwise...

    Cheers guys
I didn't know about the shield frame top taper or rake angle being different, so this becomes more of a PITA than I thought.
Technically I have bought this item on eBay already, but the seller don't seem to know what year it fits.
I could weasel out of paying up but it's a NOS Kayline skin only for 65.00 GBP and soft tops are expensive over here.
Loops/frame are going to have to be reworked CJ7 items
The doors I have are solid but dirty Whitco items I got for pennies.
I don't know which year CJ5 they were from either.
Welcome to the Frankenstein soft top!
This is my shoestring project, but I will get there in the end.
