While talking with a friend today, he informed me he has a full hard top for a CJ5 that he'd sell. It looks like a Koenig top from pictures I found on the net, but I didn't find any kind of ID tag to confirm that. I don't know what year Jeep it came off of, but will the same top fit all CJ5's from '55 to '75?

It has the doors (all three) with it and at least some of the glass, and it's in decent shape - it just kinda needs generally "restored", but isn't in such a shape that it's unreasonable to do so. Is it worth $250?

if the metal is all there, I'd say $250 is reasonable. Not a steal, but a fair price.

I'd say $250 is a good price. Check to see if he as the door lock keys. Check the windshield channel rubber. Make sure he has the windshiled filler pieces and any door hinges required to mount the passenger's or driver's doors. Some of those oddball little items can be heck to find or make.

AND if its for a later model, you CAN swap windshields to make it fit right. Learned by the hard way on that one.

Thanks, guys. I might get him down to $200 if he doesn't have some of the pieces Long&Low mentioned - we didn't talk about any of that yesterday.

Nope, there shouldn't be any need to swap windshields. He said he had a guy interested in it before, but it turned out it wouldn't fit his '78 - so I'd say it fits the earlier year range. Besides, rather than change the windshield (I prefer the pre-76 windshields, myself) I'd find a different top. :)
