I'm putting a Blazer fan motor in my 67 CJ5. The directions archived here says to reverse the direction of the motor so it spins the same as the stock motor.

Why can't I just turn the bird cage fan around and leave the motor alone?

Answered my own question, air still goes in wrong direction. Guess motor has to be reversed.

I don't know what the inside of your heater housing looks, things like how the housings flare in or out around the fan.
They do make squirrel cage fans in LH or RH rotation, try your local appliance parts place.
