I've had my '66 CJ5 for about 10 years and have never been happy with how its run. Its done fine, but never great. Its a 225 with an Offy 360 intake and a Holley economaster 4360. The carb has been the biggest problem and now its just time to replace it. I'm thinking of going back to the 2G. So my questions are:
    1. Is there an adapter to get the 4bbl intake to accept a 2G?
    2. Is the 500 cfm units available for racing (from summit or jegs) worth getting? If not, where can I pick up a 2G that will work for this setup?

Any advice is appreciated. I love my jeep but am done with headaches and want to make it run like it should.

    Thanks in advance.

Whats wrong with the Holley? I haven't seen one of those in years, but back in the day when I worked at a speed shop I rebuilt a few of those. They always seemed to work ok-not as much power as the Qjet due to the much smaller secondaries but great throttle response & MPG's. I would think it would work out well on a V6.
There are 4-2bbl adapters available, but forget about the Holley 500 2bbl-it's much too big for a Dauntless. There's a 350 cfm version, part#0-7448, that would be a better choice if you wanted to go that route. I don't think either of those would be a good choice for an off road carb.
IMO since you have a 4bbl intake already you should stick with a 4bbl carb-you could use a Qjet, an Edelbrock 500 4bbl, or a small Holley 4bbl (I run the Holley TA470 on mine).
If you choose to go back to the Rochester 2G, I'd find a stock carb & intake-you could sell your Offy intake & recoup your costs. Post an ad in the classified section here & you should get some response.

I guess I could go quadrajet. Are most people running these happy with them? What model/part # should I look for?
