OK gents, I need your opinions on something. I disassembled the rochester 2gc on this baby and I found the pump check valve ball was stuck in place and looked as if the PO had the same issue I did trying to remove it. Long story short, I now have a hole that needs to be filled in and was wondering what would be the best thing to use. I know the old stand by is JB weld, but I was concearned about how it will last being in constant contact with fuel. What are your opinions on this and short of getting a new carb, what would you do?

    Thanks

My motorcycle gas tank has a few pinholes in it, which I JB welded closed.... it lasts about 1-2 years before it starts to come loose. I would think it should be fine.

I've used Locktite Weld (similar to JB weld but works better IMO) to repair carbs before.

I haven't had to repair any holes on mine, but the first time I rebuilt mine, I didn't pay attention to detail and put the wrong ball in the wrong hole. The next time the ball was stuck. Luckily I was able to blow it out with compressed air. Not much difference in the size of the balls but there is. Just something to keep in mind during assmbly. HTH.
