Commando Doors

    I am restoring a 1968 Roadster, and I noticed after removing the several layers of paint that the metal has a leather type of grain stamped or etched into the inside. Is this a factory "upgrade" or did someone etch it somehow? Has anyone seen this type of door?

    That's the way some, but not all came from the factory, depending on the trim level. Some times it seems it didn't even depend on the trim level, it's more like that's the only doors they had so that's what they got. I have four Jeepsters here, two of those have doors from two different parted out Jeepsters, only my 70 Vert has textured doors.

    This one is vert also, 8701 vin, so it just must be a more "deluxe" trim package.
