A front shaft from an XJ from a salvage yard. You have to have them shortened, or do it yourself. Cost me $16 for the shaft and $75 to have shortened and balanced.

Do you have any driveshafts at all? If so, why must they be replaced?

I think that Norm is suggesting the XJ shaft for your rear axle?

You should be able to find a local shop that does driveshaft work. Typically they can do stuff like lengthen and shorten, balance, replace the spline-end if it's worn, and replace flanges. Sometimes they have a stock of used driveshafts, or can source shafts through junkyards. Your cheapest option, if you have nothing, will likely be to find some used shafts at the junkyard or private party, and have them shortened/lengthened and balanced.

Me, too. Tom Woods built my rear shaft to my specs with all new parts (slip yoke) for just a few dollars more than it cost me to have my front shaft lengthened and balanced.

I had this guy build them for me. They are good quality, heavy and built to spec. the front driveshaft was upgraded to 2" tubing and they have about 7" of slip splines. Ordered them on a thurs and had them the following thurs.

Here is the link to his store. http://stores.ebay.com/TATTONS-DRIVESHAFTS?_trksid=p4340.l2563
