    Guys,
I'm looking to replace my points type distributor on the 232 I6 in my '74 CJ.
I stumbled upon this, it seems to be a good price and would like to know if there are any reviews within the group, who's used it and what do you think of it, what have you heard, or which mfgr. or setup is the best in your opinion. Does the 65K VOLT COIL offer a great benefit? Thanks in advance.

I looked at that, I'm not sure mine is a factory Motorcraft Duraspark, it is only a 6 cyl. 232ci. but I think what I read is it smarter to convert my points type dizzy to electronic pointless? Is that were the Petronix comes into play?

The distributor you linked to is a GM HEI type.

I would go Pertronix before I'd do a HEI swap. JMO. I know that many people have done the HEI, and it's turned out well. I also have read quite a few horror stories ...

The Duraspark is already an electronic distributor, and was not used in Jeeps before 1978. A '74 will have the Delco points distributor.

I just converted my '74 258 to a duraspark system.
I got the rebuilt distributor and control unit from NAPA for cheap.
    I just told the counter guy I had a '79 CJ with a 258.

direct bolt in and make a quick harness with the ford style connectors.

MAJOR improvement in drivability and PASSED emissions!

replacement parts available at all autoparts stores ,maybe even walgreens

I notice nothing is plugged in in your pictures. Where did you get the connectors?
