Found a jeep close to me and trying to figure out what it is. It is looks like a cj5 body 4 wheel drive and drives from the right side. Did they make some postal jeep 4 wheel drive? It has the overhead 4 cyl motor t-90 trans and 18 transfer case. It might just be a postal jeep or a jeep from another country!! Thanks for the info. fdpwr2a

it would not be a surprise if it is a right hand drive cj5 for postal use, i've heard of them back home, where a 2wd won't work in the winter. get some pics!!! :)

There are several rural postal carriers here in Arkansas that drive right hand drive 4 wheel drive CJ7's. I will try to get a photo of one.

I recall someone here (Jim?) pointed out that there are new 4x4 Wranglers available with RHD, in the USA, specifically for rural mail delivery. I also recall that these carriers (most? all?) are contractors that own their own vehicles, and bid for their routes.

Would not be surprising that the 4x4 RHD rural mail delivery vehicles go back to the CJ-7 days.

My earlier post should have been Wrangler, not CJ7, and they all are contract carriers.

Yep you could buy off the lot a TJ that was RHD in the US. I remember seeing 4 at the local dealer a few years ago. They looked funny with the steering wheel on the wrong side.

Our local water district uses 2 of the Wrangler 4wd RHD for reading meters. It snows here sometimes.
