I'd pull the pump and inspect the pump arm and the eccentric.

Are there any fuel filters between the tank and the pump?

If so it could be clogged.

I installed a new strainer inside my tank, and the new one was longer than the old one. This resulted in the strainer being installed too far up the pickup tube, because it was pushing against the bottom of the tank. The strainer then blocked the fuel line.

    Just something to think about.

The tank is under the seat also have a return line.I have a filter between the tank and fuel pump. Also there are two holes in the bottom i had the feed line hooked up to the hole with the pick up tube inside the tank. But it wouldnt feed the fuel all the time so i put the feed to the other outlet and pluged the one it was in.I got constant fuel then.Started jeep it was running for a 1hr while i adjusted timing and air fuel mixture.Drove it a couple times up and down the street and it died.Got it back and i wasnt pumping fuel? I will pull the pump and look i already blew air through the feed line no avail. Will get into it and take the pump out.Any other sugestions welcome thank you all .

Possible there is a hole in the line to the tank. That's like sucking on a straw with a hole in it ...

If the under-seat tank won't natural siphon, the fuel pump won't work either.

When you remove the fuel line from the pump (the one coming from the tank) you should have fuel running freely out of the line because it is lower than the bottom of the tank. If the fuel has to go up the inside tank line before going out then you will have to put a little air pressure in the tank to get it started. After it starts to run it should run until the tank is empty.

Its generally a good a good idea to NOT have a fuel filter between the tank and the pump, unless you are running an electric pump. You can get away with it with an electric pump, but the pump should be very close to the tank so that it doesn't have too much restriction in the feed.

Mechanical pumps are very forgiving with regard to crud in the fuel; much more so than many electric pumps. It is almost always better to have the filter in between the pump and the carb, so the pump can overcome the restriction that the filter puts into the line. (Think milkshakes here; it is much, much easier to push milkshake through the straw than it is to suck it up into the straw.)

    HTH. :)

What fixed the problem? Did you use a different pickup at the top of the tank?

I tookoff the feed line and blew air into it put it back and it was pumping .I will think about taking the filter between the tank and the pump sound right to me ill put a clear one by the carb then i can see the fuel .
