This topic occasionally gets discussed, so I thought I'd relate my experience. I have a stock '67 CJ5 with stock wheel and currently a soft top. I weigh 230 lbs and am 6 ft. With a little squeezing and technique and can get in and out without too much drama. I have narrow hips, which might make it easier.

Once in, there's enough room, the wheel doesn't touch and leg room is adequate (it's a Jeep).

I've seen people show notching the wheel well. For me, this is not necessary.

Fitting in a cj5 is like the back seat of a limo compared to an MB/GPW. I am pretty sure a cj5 has about the most room of all the older jeeps. Most of the fenderwell mods are for CJ2A's, MB's, etc

Yep, my buddy just went from a CJ2A to a CJ5. All he can talk about is how much more leg room he has now.

I notched my wheel wells. I am not 6 ft, but I love the room. It even looks stock. Maybe I am just used to driving more modern cars with plenty of leg room. I think it was one of the better mods I had done to my 57 CJ5.

I'm 6'3" 220, No notch and I fit in my 3B and early cj5 just fine. I fit in the 2A as well but I do notice the diff for sure.
