The top one (shorter) came with my trans when I bought it, I bought the trans complete, rebuilt, with adapter installed, ready to bolt in. The shifter was brand new and completely straight, had to put that single bend at the bottom in it. Guy I bought from said it was the only shifter available new.

The longer unit with 2 bends came out of a late 70's CJ, think it is a stock 4 to 1 t18 shifter.

The measurement from the bottom of the "pivot ball" to the tip on the single bend unit was 3 9/16". (6 to 1)

The stock Cj was 3". (4 to 1) It didn't work in my 6 to 1 tranny.

The pivot ball on the new unit is all one piece of steel with the shifter.

The 4 to 1 Cj unit uses a pressed on pivot ball. I was able to heat it up with a torch and move it up the required 9/16". Works like a charm and the longer stick makes the t18 shift noticeably easier.
