is the below from pinstipes still true? and will the backing plates on this fit my dana 44 rear and dana 27a front?

i have found tow sets of rear brakes on early 70's wagoneers with dana 44 rears but they are 6 lug drums. is there a problem with using these?

If you are scrapping the DJ, the 11" drum brakes are HIGHLY desireable as a CJ5 upgrade and fairly hard to find --will bolt right up on older Jeep axles back to CJ2. You will have to pull the axle shafts on the rear to get the backing plates off (or use whole axle as-is). The rear axle is also a desireable early CJ5 upgrade too --check the ratio.

You're asking about the DJ, not the Wagoneer?

    correct

i am going out the the yard tues to see if i can get the parts from the dj.

if the dj is not possible then i am curious about the wagoneer.

since i may have a line on both types at decent cost. :D
