Sheet metal thickness?

    I am going to start working on some patch panels for my front fenders.

    Has anyone done this?

    What thickness of sheet metal do you think an original fender is?

    I am a first timer at this, so any advice would be good.

    Its a 55 CJ5.

    The original is actually 19gauge, but 18 gauge works fine and is what most people use.

    Just the answers I was looking for.

    Great thread to follow too, and what a nice job you did on that Jeep. It looks awesome yet, not a garage queen show car!

    In my mind, you just want it clean, rust free, as straight as I can get it and then I am taking it out on the road and off the road!
