I have the pedals and tilt column and brackets from a 75 cj5 where do I cut the holes in the firewall?

Well, a '75 never came with a tilt column, so it was swapped in (if it's really from a '75). Thus you're mostly on your own - make some careful measurements and plan well.

Also do I need to extend the front frame for the Saginaw box? If so how much?

There's a sticky thread in the 'fabricator's forum' with nothing but Saginaw info. Have you looked there yet?

It may have been swapped in but the column bolted to the pedal bracket and the floor. And it appears factory.

frame length doesn't need to be extended for a saggy swap.......and I put later model hanging pedals and a tilt column in my cj6......as Tim noted you need to play with the dimensions/seat position/pedal placement/ etc to come up with the final placement
I have quite a bit in my build thread and if you search tilt column I'd bet you'd get a ton more to read and ponder

Could be fron a '76 or later CJ. Those Jeeps used the GM column, and tilt was an option. Post a picture of what you've got and we may be able to identify it.

In your situation, and if it's from a CJ, I would look for a '76 or later CJ for sale near me. Then I'd go and look at the Jeep. Just be up front about what you need with the owner, and they will probably be cooperative. Of course, Jeeps on a car lot are fair game for looking/measuring.
