I would attach pics but when I try I just eventually get a page cannot be found screen and that is it? What I am going to say is that no one has covered the fact that a good cage should be tied into the frame. Mine bolts to the frame at two points up front and 4 in the rear. I actually have a hole though the floor panel that the cage runs through so that the body can move independantly of the cage. Anyone know why I can't load images?

Ok here is one pic, as you can see the cage is held on in the rear by 2 1/2 inch bolts on each of the legs that I made. The bolts run through a 3/8 plate, then the frame, then I have another 3/8 plate that is welded to the inside of the frame. That inside plate has the nuts welded into them becouse I now have my frame fully boxed. Then for the front I ran a 4x4x3/8 angle iron out from the frame on each side that I drilled 4 3/8 holes throught that I bolt my front leg pads to. These legs run through the body to let everything run independantly.http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=&stc=1

Mines bolted to the frame in 6 spots, but if you have your seats and belts built into the cage, frame attachent isn't really a big deal. If your seats and harness are bolted to the tub, then you better make sure that the tub and the cage stay with each other.

Good point on the belts and that. Never really thought about it like that. My cage is attached to the frame first for safety , but also to keep my jeep in usauble order after a decent roll over. I will extend the roll bar later to also incase the engine.

Heres some pics of mine. For now its bolted to the fenderwheels in the rear and welded to 8x8x3/16 plates which are bolted to the floor in front. I plan to either tie the seats and belts into the cage or tie the cage to the frame, most likely the latter.

I will probably add some mild triangulation and a harness bar behind the seats as well when I tie to the frame.
