I love my Super Top! But, no matter how I try I can't get the doors to stop leaking. Is this common? Is this just one of those things that I have to learn to live with? It doesn't leak bad. I just don't want it to leak at all. Anyone else had this problem?
    Thanks!

Yup! Most of my probs are when the rain comes thru where the door meets the top/windshield. When I leave it outside, I unpeel that upper door flap, shut the door, and leave the velcro flap outside the top of the door so the rain doesn't get in.

I too have that dreaded windshield angle problem that prevents the doors from shutting evenly...the door binds with the 'shield. I'd have to shim the 'shield about 1.5" to get it to shut normally.

I don't think I've ever seen an old jeep that didn't leak...At least the 4 that I've had did

Another tip to try is seperating the door halves, and bending the upper door frame such that it has some inward angle to it - in order to seal the doors have to be kinda hard to shut.

That is what I did. It helps a whole bunch, but it still will not be as tight a submarine.

I had to do this with a CJ-7 too as I remember.

I cut a piece of foam mat in an L shape and placed it on the outside of the top rail, between the rail and the flap. It provides a little extra for the door to push up against. Seals it much tighter. Didn't get any leaks with the last rain that came through.

Great topic! Mike--I was thinking of e-mailing you as to a top problem I have. Mine seems to fit the windshield angle fine but I think on the drivers side I need to bend the pegs in at the rear to get the rear of the side window to close to the top. Also, I think I'm going to have to move the hinges up a bit--about 3/8" on the drivers and 1/4" on the pass--because the doors seem to sit a bit low. I hate to because it means I'll have to drill More Holes. :( I have the Bestop inst. on PDF but there seems to be no adjustability of the rods themselves, so I think that's my only option.

Hippo: Great idea! Would have never thought about that. You know where I park mine, and the pass door seems to be "just right" for the run off from the roof--no matter where I park it. Thanks buddy! :)

    Thanks for the replies!
The top seal seems to be where mine leaks too. I drove to work last week and it rained VERY hard. I had puddles in my floorboard. I also have leaks in front by the hinges where the upper and lower door meet. There is a little gap between the seals.
    Thanks again!

I'm running the tiger top. Mines the same way. I can see daylight at the windshield end of the doors, from inside the cab. The windshield angle is correct, because the doors fit the opening of the tub properly.
Just like James though, my doors could stand to be raised about 3/8" on the driver side. The pass. side is not to bad. Hate to redrill the snap holes.
I was thinking of lowering the horizontal support rods, but then I would not be able to slip the doors up and out. I guess my other option would be to move the horizontal support rod brackets off of the lip of the windshield, to the flat portion next to the w/s glass. that would allow me to lower the rods, and then bend the door framework inboard a little.

    Challenges challenges

I've heard that foam pipe insulation on the horizontal support rod works also, it won't come off obviously and holds the fabric out and against the door.

    Good ideas!
I really like how simple your idea is Glenn! I think I will try it.
    Thanks!
