Sorry if this isn't regarding early or intermediate, but I'd like to tap into the vast knowledge here if possible.

I’m changing out the Leaf Springs on my ’95 YJ and my question is regarding the 9/16 dia. bolt holes in the Spring Hangers mounted to the frame.

    1. Are these holes merely clearance holes for the bolts or is one of the holes threaded?
    2. Can I just remove them with a BFH or what are my options?

The reason I ask is because the 9/16 bolt doesn’t turn in either direction with my Impact wrench. I’ve soaked everything in PB Blaster and all of the nuts came off very easily, even the 9/16 nuts, but the bolts will not turn, there now soaking overnight.

The hanges are not threaded. The bolts are probably rusted to the inner steel bushing inside the rubber bushings. Yes, cut of one end, then apply force with a BFH.

I have been known to use an oxy-fuel torch and apply lots of heat. However i suggest that you do it outside as it will indeed make a stinky/smokey mess and you will have to replace the bushing
