    I have a fiberglass body I'm planning of using but it doesn't have the detail under the tailgate for the body to clear the hitch mount....as seen here.

    [IMG] Nice photo by the way.

    Can someone measure the width at top (8"?), width at bottom(12"?) and the height? (4"?) My plan is to cut the area out and reinforce the glass arround it.

    thanks,

    As taken from my '71 RII (no tailgate):
    A = 8 3/4"
    B = 2 3/4"
    C = 13 1/4"

    I planned to widen that area on mine to accept a standard size license plate. Would use a swing up plate holder from a car with fuel fill behind the rear plate. 1970-74 Barracuda comes to mind. I do not have a factory rear crossmember, that opening will need to be adjusted as well.
    Put a two inch receiver hitch behind the plate and swing it up when towing. No more smashed license plates or hang down hitch.
