Twin Stick Dana 18 Mod.

My Dana 18 transfer case will only go into 4wd in low range, what do you need to modify to let it go into 4wd high range. I was told that there are some "pins" that need to be removed from the linkage. Is this easy, can you modify it with out taking apart the transfer case? Thanks, Todd

 

It should go into 4 high without taking the pins out. Those are for 2 low.
Take it out of Low range and if you keep it in 4 wheel drive it will be in 4 high.

 

One stick is high/low range the other is front engage/dissengage. Put the one in high and the other in engage.

 

The mod you're refering to is the interlock between the two shifters. By removing it you can run 2WD LOW range. It requires disassembly of the transfer case to do this. If you don't have 4WD high range, that's a whole different problem.
