78 CJ5 Paint Code

Ok, so I searched through all the threads looking for the location of the paint code on my 78. I think that it is the 9T in the photo of the VIN tag I have posted. Can anyone confirm this? Also 9T is not listed in the 78 paint colors, but is listed in the 79 paint colors as Ensign Blue. Is it possible that my CJ5 was made at the end of 78 when they were introducing new colors for 79?

 

judging by the high sales order number on the tag, J431342, I would say correct to all you have stated.
late 1978 Jeep with 1979 color.
When dealing with interior fabric/seat/soft trim codes, you often see (as an example):
"used on 1978 vehicles with 1979 trim codes" listed in the footnotes.
I would assume the same thing happened with paint and paint codes.
