New starter for a 225 V-6

    The chev's used a bracket that went on one of the barrel thru bolts hence the threaded extension on some applications. Others used one that bolted to the housing barrel to the block. Since the barrels are basic meaning the standard starter versus the hi-torque, usually only the armatures and field coils differ in windings but not in diameter or length. This means the re-builders don't pay much attention to that little threaded hole in the barrel.

    Would any of you have a picture or wiring diagram for hooking up a starter on a 225?

    This is from a 76 231 The starter that replaced it did not have the bracket thingy. May be because the starter was simply old though.
