I know a Gen to Alternator conversion has been beaten to death, but I am about to do it, and was ready to build the bracket, we have all seen the drawing of the bracket needed, but call me anal, the drawing is not accurate and I dont know which dimensions to use.

I think the inside dimension of the channel should be the critical point, but its unclear in the drawing. I was going to use flat stock and use a brake to bend it, but it is unclear as to what is the critical dimension.

Again, sorry for being anal, but I am a mechanical engineer, its my nature.

    Any input?

Hey, my Dad was a civil engineer, I understand the concept. Ha Ha What you have to do is step outside the box, use the drawing only for reference and take the measurements from your own rig. I spend a lot of time staring at fabrication projects before I start. So, you already have the basic design, the space you have to work with will determine your sizes.
