any body running a 350 withthe stock frame

    Ive boxed my frame in but still concerned it can handle the power of this sbc. just got it on the road and Im a bit supprized how balzy this thing is. no rock crawling just sand, trails, mud and hills.

    Not to worry. I used 3/16 plate (overkill) on mine and that was 35 years back. I did tear one of the rear spring hangers off the frame and would suggest the box be extended to beef these up-but not sure the sbc's had anything to do with that failure. Make sure the box plate covers the rear shackel mount-this seems to me to be the weakest portion of the frame. Other than replacing the rear cross member for more fuel tank space, my frame has stood the test of time with 3 different sbc's, two of which were over 400hp.
