Any ideas on a good shovel mount for a 60 CJ-5?

I like how the MB's did it, but the holding brackets wont work as the CJ is straight, and the MB's bodys tapered in toward the engine compartment.

Any thoughts? I dont want to get to funky with this! But I do need to hauld a shovel, per my hobbies!

Sure, do it like an M38A1. Mounts under the hood. You could weld the A1 brackets on your hood, but probably easiest to find an A1 hood with the brackets.

That's real nice, but I've heard that guy is a jerk and a 'hole of the highest order. Therefore my credit card shadow shall never darken his cash register. Is that kit available anywhere else? Looks like the perfect kit.

That does look perfect! What is wrong with the guy? I have never heard of him, nor dealt with him.

I've never bought from him, but was refered there by a member here that had good luck dealing with him... Can't speak to the company, but might be worth a look-see. As to prices, I agree they're a bit out there, but I'd probably pay it if I couldn't find one that's restorable.

I made a shovel bracket for my 63 using a piece of 3/4 wide, 1/8 thick flat steel. This piece holds the shovel end. I then made one for my axe head. The two handles sit over each other and are secured with a u-bolt in the center. Both are mounted on the drivers side. I mounted a pick axe on the passenger side.
