Making the Jalopy less crusty and rusty

    The four rear body mounts on the Jalopy gave way a long time ago, and now that the gas problem is fixed, I don't like the body riding on the fuel tank. This is how I fixed them.

    Using the plasma cutter, I cut the bottom 1 1/2" off the body.

    I welded in some 2" angle iron that is 3/16" thick. Maybe it is a little over kill, but this thing flexes a lot. I put hockey pucks between the body and frame along with some valve springs, like I did on my restored one. I don't think I'll have any more problems! I still have the front 6 to do too.
