The bolt pattern is the same as later VW Busses, these trailers were designed to be towed behind an Iltis which were built by VW.

    Mostly.

Dexter sells a 5 on 5.5 hub kit,

This should fit but you might want to double check your spindle diameter.

If the flange is large enough in diameter, any competent machine shop should be able to drill new holes in the correct location, just push in new studs.

I convert the hubs on my M101CDN 1/4 ton trailer to 5 on 5.5 to be compatable with my 1974 CJ5. I have got the invoice for the hubs back in the cave and if the Dire Wolf hasn't eaten it I will dig it out and post where I got them and the part I oredered this evening. This might be consider blasphemy but over on th IH8MUD site there is a section on trailer tech that has a lot of info about the M101CDN.

I said I would get back with information as to where I got my conversion hubs. Actual they are the brake drums but I got mine at Southwest Wheel Company (www.southwestwheel.com/store/) and the part number is L0555LB3E and in 2007 for two in came to $91.85 deliveried. Hope that helps.
