I just recently purchased this 1955 Jeep and the PO said he thought it has a blown head gasket, as the oil was milk-shakey.

As I have been thinking about tearing it apart or at least exploring it further, the 134 runs so well, and just doesn't overheat or have any tell tale signs of anything.

Having said that, I took it in today and looked at the oil at the very top of the stick where the round part fits into the fill tube, what I see there is like a butter consistency waxy build up. Sort of yellowish.

At the bottom of the tube the oil is clean and not really milky at all.

I am not the most mechanically inclined or knowledgeable, but I am not really scared to think things out and try some things on my own.

So I look and the PO has this whole thing rigged up wrong, or at least it feels wrong to me.

There is a small tube coming from the oil fill tube, another small angle shaped thing off of the valve cover. those two are connected by two 6 inch pieces of hose and they come to a T.

Then off of the T they go into one house which is connected to what I think is a breather filter???

There does not appear to be a PCV valve of any sort. Should there be? One of the hoses was visibly full of clear water and the whole thing was plugged up by the yellow buttery oil mixture.

I theorize that this strange set up and its bad hoses is someone taking in condensation and mixing with the oil from the blow by and making it appear that there is a great problem.

I don't know... does anyone know what the set up should be for this??? I just have an open element air filter on it from the PO. Seems like there should be a valve somewhere?

thanks in advance if anyone knows???
