Did any of the 1960 CJ5's come stock with a jerry can holder? If so, where to mount it? If not, i guess same question, best place to mount one. Even if its not stock, I really need one out of necessity....

My '61 CJ6 has some holes around the Jeep logo on the side, front, near the door. I believe this is where a can holder was. I'm not sure if it was original or not. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

    Aftermarket accessory.

The best way to mount one is with a swing-away tire carrier. The Kayline carriers were popular in the day. Modern designs seem to all incorporate a bumper and swing-away tire mount.

I presume you have a tailgate? The M38 had a tailgate mounted jerry can, but it mostly eliminates the usefulness of your tailgate.
